Deploy Ceph HA Storage Lab with Ansible Vagrant & AI Agent!!, Server Infrastructure:: Build a 5-node Ceph cluster using VMware Vagrant Ansible Cephadm AI agents on Windows Mac Linux!.

Description

This course is a hands-on practical laboratory designed to help learners build and operate a highly available Ceph storage cluster using virtual machines and modern infrastructure automation tools. Students will deploy a 5-node Ceph storage environment using VMware Workstation, HashiCorp Vagrant, Ubuntu Server, Ansible Infrastructure as Code, and Cephadm deployment methods. The course also introduces the use of AI coding assistants such as Devin and Windsurf to accelerate infrastructure deployment and automation tasks.

The course focuses on learning by doing. Instead of studying storage concepts only through theory, students will create virtual servers, automate operating system deployment, configure Ceph services, build shared storage pools, and practice cluster administration tasks in a realistic lab environment. Learners will also explore how to add additional storage disks, expand cluster nodes, and mount Ceph storage for Docker Swarm and highly available application environments.

Modern organizations increasingly rely on distributed storage systems to support cloud platforms, containers, virtualization, and large-scale applications. Ceph has become one of the leading open-source storage platforms because it provides object, block, and file storage with built-in redundancy and scalability. Understanding Ceph administration and automation is becoming an important skill for infrastructure engineers and platform teams.

One of the major advantages of this course is that the entire lab can run on Windows, macOS, or Linux computers using VMware Workstation and Vagrant. Students can safely practice enterprise storage technologies without requiring expensive physical servers or cloud environments. Infrastructure automation using Ansible also reduces manual configuration tasks and introduces real-world DevOps practices.

This course is intended for cloud engineers, DevOps engineers, Site Reliability Engineers, platform engineers, system administrators, storage engineers, and infrastructure architects who want practical experience with enterprise storage systems. It is also suitable for students preparing for cloud, automation, or infrastructure careers.

As organizations continue adopting Kubernetes, containers, hybrid cloud platforms, and software-defined infrastructure, demand for engineers with storage automation skills will continue to grow. Learning Ceph, infrastructure as code, and automation tools provides valuable skills that can support future careers in cloud engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, and enterprise infrastructure operations.

Who this course is for:

  • DevOps and SRE Engineers Learn how highly available storage supports modern infrastructure platforms. Gain practical experience with automation, infrastructure as code, and distributed storage systems used in production environments.
  • System and Infrastructure Administrators Build skills in Linux servers, virtualization, cluster administration, storage management, and high-availability systems that are commonly required in enterprise data centers.
  • Cloud and Platform Engineers Understand how shared storage integrates with containers, Docker Swarm, and cloud-native infrastructure while learning automation techniques for scalable environments.
  • Students and Career Changers Acquire practical hands-on experience with enterprise storage technologies using affordable virtual labs that can run on personal computers without expensive hardware.
