Empowering Inclusion: A Guide to Accessibility Education, Gwenyth Wollner, O3 Capstone Project.
Description
Welcome to my Capstone project! To complete my Occupational Therapy Doctoral Capstone, my project focused on the development of a three-hour, asynchronous online learning platform with 5 additional educational videos regarding the 2010 ADA Standards. This course is designed to be engaging and fully accessible, offering accessible options such as closed captioning, adjusting video playback speed, and compatibility with screen-readers. Not only was this course designed to spread information regarding accessible environments and their benefits, but it was designed so any learner with any ability has the opportunity to complete the course. The course I developed is just one of nine total courses that I will continue to develop to create a central space for future accessibility professionals, and will be sustainable for years to come to ensure that information regarding accessibility knowledge is accessible for all.
In addition to developing the online course, I also had the opportunity to complete two other objectives: complete my ADA Coordinator Certification, and complete at least one facility accessibility review. Completing both of these objectives was crucial to the development of the online course and was vital to the supplement of my Capstone project overall.
Following completion of my Capstone, I plan to continue to use the skills I have built through earning my ADA Coordinator Certification, and I also plan to continue to collaborate with my mentor, Dr. Molly Wuebker, to complete the rest of the online learning modules to create a unified space for all accessibility information.
Who this course is for:
